It’s a career that I take to the heart and am going to enjoy dearly. I’ve come so far and have gained some new titles under my belt, I am a member of the heart association (CPR) a phlebotomist and a new medical assistant. The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is to produce highly skilled and knowledgeable certified MA’s. Highly skilled MA’s, which could play a vital role in smooth running of wide range of different heath care organizations, hospitals etc.. CMA”S must pass a rigorous examination that requires a thorough, broad and current understanding of health care delivery. CMA’S must renew the credential side of it every sixty months. This means keeping abreast of new developments in the health care field. The recertification requirements can be meet by continuing education with employment. A certified clinical MA has more training than a clinical medical assistant; this means that the CMA is testing while medical assistants are actually doing there job. This is largely due to the fact that most employers require some form of medical assistant certification, and to add to this, carrying out specific duties in some states like drawing blood and x-rays you need to have certification. A medical assistant certification requires one to graduate from a medical assistant program which is accredited either by the AMERICAN BUREAU OF HEALTH EDUCATION SCHOOLS (ABHES) or the COMMISSION OF ACCREDITATION
