Is Time Travel Possible?

Time travel has always fascinated humans. The idea of being able to change the past or the future creates infinite possibilities. The most common form of time travel is through the use of a time machine, although in some cases, characters with mystical powers can transport others in time. The subject of time travel has been brought up in various blockbuster movies, such as Back to the Future series, the Terminator trilogy, and even Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.4 In the literary world, some well-known writers have written about time travel, including H.G. Wells, Issac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein and Madeline L’Engle. There are songs about time travel, from George Harrison’s “Any Road” to “The

The exit might even be a “white hole,” which, instead of pulling everything in through gravity, it would push everything away from it with negative energy or some other sort of exotic matter

Another option similar to black holes is wormholes. These would be created due to the space curvature based on inertial masses. To understand this, visualize a bed sheet stretched tight that is held up by two people. If one were to place a baseball on the sheet, the weight of the baseball would roll to the middle of the sheet and cause a curve at that point. If you were then to place a marble on the edge of the sheet, it would travel towards the baseball because of the curve. Comparably, in another dimension of space-time, if two gravities were massive enough the curves could combine and form a wormhole from one place-time to another. The final theory for how we might traverse time uses the idea of cosmic strings. These are string-like objects that may have formed in the early universe. These cosmic strings, thinner than an atom, are like rubber bands because they are under enormous tension. Through this tension, two cosmic strings pulled close together might be able to warp space-time enough to create closed time like curves, or time travel. The laws of physics may not explicitly prevent time travel, but some paradoxes arise when scientists contemplate time travel.

The first so-called paradox is the Twin Paradox. According to the
